Mexican Style Celery Root Chowder - February 2014 Newsletter

LOVE this quick and easy chowder. Creamy, thick, rich, flavorful, dairy free...and totally delicious! I've served this to many non-raw foodies, and all were in awe of the texture and richness of  flavor. Everyone swore the soup was loaded with cream..WELL, it is - cashew cream!

And by the way, it's cold here on the East Coast, so I gently warm soup in my Vitamix blender. My tummy was happy!

PolyScience - The Smoking Gun
I'm so excited tostart using The Smoking Gun. It's a hand-held smoker that offers an alternative to traditional smoking methods, and the best part - it can be used with raw vegan cuisine, because there is NO HEAT. I am ecstatic just thinking about all of the amazing dishes I can make with this tool. (Thinking Eggplant "Bacon" takes on a whole new meaning with some real applewood smoke)!!!

Using The Smoking Gun in this soup, added a deep, rich smokiness that cannot be achieved with liquid smoke, chipotle or smoked paprika. I have to say it's really simple to use, and clean-up is a breeze. You have got to check this out!
